Hi there,
I'm Eric.
My Story.
I grew up as the archetypical high-achiever.
I won all the biggest awards and scholarships.
I skyrocketed my way up the corporate ladder.
But somewhere along that journey, I started to feel off.
And in trying to understand that feeling better, I began to seek therapy.
Not because I thought there was anything wrong with me.
But because I wanted to learn about myself.
And it was through therapy that I quickly started to realise…
… that I was not fearless, but rather, I was controlled by fear.
… that I was not free of pain, but rather, I was numb to it.
I realised so many unspoken truths about myself.
That my desire to socialise came from a fear of being alone.
That my tensions with my parents came from a fear of seeing them in pain.
But most confronting of all?
That my high achiever identity came from a fear of being unworthy of love.
And so I threw away everything I knew, and began to approach my identity differently.
Instead of purely following logic, I learned how to listen to my intuition.
Instead of avoiding pain, I learned how to sit with it.
Instead of impressing people, I learned how to accept disappointment.
In learning to let go of my identity driven out of fear, my true identity began to emerge.
And in learning to sit with my pains, I now had the courage to choose a path that was mine.
Today, I am free from the beliefs that had shaped and trapped me.
I live each day doing the things that bring me to life.
And now I want to help others explore their emotional truths.
To move past their fears and reclaim a life that is theirs...
...instead of living up to someone else’s idea of success.
Truths I live by.
We are allowed to feel what we feel, even the feelings we think are bad.
To connect with our own truths, we must first acknowledge and let go of our fears.
No healing can happen without accepting the pain that hurt us in the first place.
